“In the past, it would cost my team $1 million/year and one full time team member to guide one of twelve bulk drinking water tank painting projects to completion every year for above ground tanks that ranged from 0.3 mg to 1.5 mg with most being in the larger capacity range. One day in 2021 I received a cold call from the Southern Corrosion area representative and he indicated a desire to paint and maintain all of my tanks if we could enter into a long-term contract. The representative climbed all the tanks and asked intelligent questions of my staff and me. After adding a methane storage tank, two soda ash storage silos, reviewing their proposal, verifying performance with current customers, etc. we signed up. The first year was a test to ensure that the Southern Corrosion team really had what it took to get the work done. Without any reservations I can state that the Southern Corrosion team is the Special Forces, A-team, etc. of tank painting. This team knows what it is doing, is extremely competent, performs work safely and timely, cleans up, addresses overspray claims fairly and quickly, is well organized and we work together to address any challenges to maintain the operational capacity of the system. The work quality is excellent. Their costs are substantially lower than our prior mode of operation and I have an employee who can perform other value-added work.
